Biography

With more than 20 years of experience in environmental consulting and civil and sanitary engineering, she leads the firm’s environmental assessments for development projects.

Her experience includes advising on landmark tourism, hotel, and industrial development projects in the Dominican Republic. She provides counsel on environmental compliance, sustainability, waste management, pollution, climate change, and protected areas.

She earned her Civil Engineering degree from the National University Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), Santo Domingo, in 2001. She obtained a Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering and Protection from the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) in 2009, and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Pollution from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Spain, in 2005.

Additionally, she has participated in numerous workshops and seminars focused on her professional development in various fields, including: Sanitary Sewer System Design, offered by the Dominican Association of Sanitary and Environmental Engineers (ADIS) in October 2001; the workshop Identification and Description of Environmental Impacts, Environmental Management and Adaptation Programs (PMAA), and Environmental Diagnosis of Megaprojects, organized by UNPHU–SEMARENA in December 2006; a 40-hour Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Workshop under the USAID Environmental and Labor Excellence Program for CAFTA-DR (2009); the workshop Capacity Building for the Use and Evaluation of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, also under the USAID Environmental and Labor Excellence Program for CAFTA-DR (2009); the International Advanced Specialization Course in Integrated Solid Waste Management (40 hours), HAACI, April 2025; and the International Advanced Specialization Course in Climate Change: Adaptation and Mitigation Tools (20 hours), HAACI, September 2023.

She has served as Lead Professor of the Diploma Program in Environment, Natural Resources and Their Protection at UNPHU, Santo Domingo and La Vega campuses, since 2011, and as Assistant Professor in the Diploma Program in Environmental Management at UNIBE, Santo Domingo. She is also a member of the faculty of the Diploma Program in Environment, Natural Resources and Their Protection at UNPHU. In addition, she is a member of the Dominican College of Engineers, Architects and Surveyors (CODIA) and the Dominican Association of Environmental Service Providers (ADPSA).
